Scope of Work: MCP site assessment, soil and ground water remediation, 21J UST fund reimbursement claim management and UST compliance Omni Environmental Group is managing the on-going $520,000 environmental assessment and remediation of a gasoline release at a retail petroleum facility. Omni Environmental Group is the Licensed Site Professional (LSP) for the site under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP). The gasoline plume extends over 800 feet from the point of release in an area with numerous residential and institutional properties serviced by private water supply wells. A dual phase extraction remedial system is removing light non-aqueous phase liquid and treating contaminated soil and ground water. Omni Environmental Group provided oversight of the remedial system design, construction and installation and is operating the remedial system. Omni Environmental Group is managing the 21J reimbursement claim process to obtain reimbursement from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program. Omni Environmental Group is also providing permitting and compliance consulting for the gasoline and diesel UST systems.
Scope of Work: Environmental consulting Omni Environmental Group provided technical expertise for an independent accountant’s report on applying agreed upon procedures with respect to the management and performance of a State UST reimbursement fund. The report focused on pay-for-performance remediation contracts within the reimbursement fund. Omni Environmental Group reviewed site assessment data, environmental remediation cost estimates, remedial system operating data, pay-for-performance contracts, payment schedules and financial records and evaluated whether: 1) assessment data supported remedial decision making and cost estimates, 2) remedial system operating and maintenance data met the criteria for milestone payments, and 3) technical and administrative documentation were consistent with regulatory requirements and contractual terms. Client: Municipal light and power department Scope of Work: Environmental site assessment, soil and ground water remediation, environmental compliance and permitting Omni Environmental Group prepared a Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures Plan (SPCC Plan) for a power plant which has an aboveground storage tank (AST) capacity of 880,000 gallons of petroleum and is located adjacent to a river. Omni Environmental Group is also providing LSP services and oversight of the operation of a 29-well dual phase extraction and in-situ bioventing remedial system to remove light non-aqueous phase liquid and treat impacted soil and ground water at the facility. Client: Property owner Scope of Work: Site assessment, risk assessment and site remediation Omni Environmental Group assessed and remediated a release of fuel oil which contaminated a drinking water aquifer adjacent to a surface water body. Omni Environmental Group assessed the extent of fuel oil contamination in soil and ground water, designed and implemented a multi-phase remedial program, prepared a site-specific risk assessment and closed the environmental case. The remedial program included structural excavation designed to protect an immediately abutting building, short-term ground water and soil vapor extraction and in-situ chemical oxidation of the residual petroleum. |
